A comprehensive treatment for petrol stations

Comprehensive treatment of household, rain and waste water at petrol stations.

In the design of sewage treatment plants, one of the designers’ mistakes is an underestimation of the estimated wastewater consumption, which negatively affects the operation of the biological wastewater treatment plant and leads to the reduction in the efficiency of treatment. From our many years of experience in the operation of local wastewater treatment plants for petrol stations, we have made sure that at such plants the minimum flow rate should not be less than 3 m³/day. At the treatment plants for the petrol station it is necessary to provide additional measures for the detention of gross sewage. To do this, before installing “BIOTAL” it is necessary to provide a sewage pit with a grid for the rough sewage detention.

For wastewater treatment plants, a large uneven flow of sewage is characteristic. In order to prevent flooding of the BIOTAL plant with volley discharges of sewage, it is necessary to install a sewage pump in the concrete pit before plant, which will be connected to the control unit of the plant. Upon reaching the maximum sewage levels in the BIOTAL plant, the pump will automatically shut off the sewage to the plant, preventing its flooding. Meanwhile, waste water accumulates in the KNS pit and is fed to the plant after the automatic switch-on of the feeding pump. In most cases, environmental services prohibit to dispose treated waste water from petrol stations to the drainage system, sewerage or river. In this case, the treated waste water accumulates in a ferroconcrete well and is subsequently exported to drainage stations. To prevent the return of treated wastewater from the accumulative well back to the plant, it is necessary to provide an alarm system about filling of the accumulative well to the maximum level.
